After waiting for more than a year, 13 Reasons Why season 3 is finally coming back to Netflix next week! The new season premieres on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019.

It’s been a while since season 2. The season ended on a controversial note when Tyler (Devin Druid) showed up to the school’s Spring Fling with a weapon intending on starting a school shooting, in response to being sexually assaulted by Monty (Timothy Granaderos). Clay (Dylan Minnette) managed to talk him down and the final scene showed Clay holding the gun as police sirens were heard in the background.
Clay, along with the rest of the main cast including, Christian Navarro (Tony Padilla), Brandon Flynn (Justin Foley), Alisha Boe (Jessica Davis), Miles Heizer (Alex Standall), and Ross Butler (Zach Demsepy), seem like they will all be working together not only to cover up what Tyler almost did, but to also deal with the death of a student they all know too well.

It’s Bryce Walker! I haven’t been following spoilers before the trailer came out, so I don’t know about all of you but I wasn’t expecting Bryce (Justin Prentice) to die and for this to be the plot of the next season.
Here is Netflix’s synopsis for season 3:
“Eight months after preventing Tyler from committing an unthinkable act at Spring Fling, Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin and Zach find ways to shoulder the burden of the cover-up together while helping Tyler move toward recovery. But when the aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game culminates in the disappearance of a football player, and Clay finds himself under police scrutiny, it’s up to a shrewd outsider to steer the group through an investigation that threatens to lay bare everyone’s deepest secrets. The stakes are raised as the consequences of even the most well-intended actions can alter a life forever.”
Color me intrigued. The synopsis and trailer have got me pumped for the new season. The first two seasons have been so revolved around Hannah and why she decided to take her life. Even though Clay finally “said goodbye” to her last season, it will be interesting to see how the show will do now that it’s focusing on something else. But from what I saw from the trailer, it’ll be an interesting season to follow and watch as the mystery and secrets unfold.
I’m also curious about the new character, Ani Achola (Grace Saif), and what her role will be. She was featured in quite a bit of the trailer.
If you haven’t seen this show yet, I recommend you watch it. The show deals with sensitive topics that can be hard to watch. But unfortunately, this is the what is happening now and the show helps bring awareness to these topics.
What are you looking forward to seeing in 13 Reasons Why season 3? The wait is almost over, we’ve only got one more week to go!
