Grace and Frankie season 6: Everything we know so far

Tired of rewatching Grace and Frankie season 5’s 13 episodes over and over? Worry not, the sixth installment of the series is coming and here is what you can expect!

When it comes to original comedy shows by Netflix, I think Grace and Frankie is the clear winner. First premiered in 2015, the series initially received mixed responses but soon won hearts worldwide, becoming one of the most popular shows on the streaming site.

Created by Marta Kauffman, the creator of Friends, the recently released season 5 of Grace and Frankie echoed the success of previous seasons. Netflix was so sure of it, that the show was renewed for another season before season 5 could wow the viewers. But, when is it coming? What is it going to be about? Here is everything we know so far!

Who is returning?

Your favorite ladies Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, obviously, along with Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael, Baron Vaughn, Peter Cambor, Peter Gallagher, and Michael Charles Roman. The production of season 6 kicked off in January itself and the cast members were confirmed via some tweets which got fans super hyped!

When is season 6 coming?

Even though the production of the show started earlier this year, Grace and Frankie will follow its pattern of dropping new seasons in the first half of the year. The first two seasons of the show debuted in May, the third in March and both the newer seasons came out in January, which makes us believe season 6 will too come out around early 2020.

Officially, Netflix has confirmed 2020 release for the show as well.

How many episodes?

Again, all the seasons so far have had 13 episodes each so we believe season 6 will be no different and IMDb seems to agree with us as well.

What is it going to be about?

Well, the finale of season 5 did tease that something big is going to happen and Grace and Frankie’s life won’t be the same.

Grace is now a married woman and now that she is with Nick, we sense a friend break-up. The women wanted to move on in their lives and now with Grace being married and her husband willing to take her on a world tour, Frankie is going to be all by herself in the beach house.

“The Alternative” also gives a glimpse of how the events would have turned out had Grace and Frankie not met each other. Will the two women stay in touch and be friends or move on to different paths? Guess we’ll find out in season 6!
