Hulu will air first crossover between Runaways and Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger this year

Fans curious about Cloak And Dagger’s superhero duo of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) will be happy to know that Marvel has a planned crossover with the Runaways in the works. The teams are expected to meet in Season 3, although details surrounding their inevitable meeting are unclear.

Since the sophomore season of Cloak And Dagger ended with Tandy and Ty taking a bus to an undisclosed beach, it’s probably safe to assume they’re headed to Los Angeles now that we know they’re going to appear in Marvel’s Runaways Season 3. There is a chance circumstances surrounding their meeting will be different but odds are they’ll collide in LA.

As far as other possibilities go, Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano) will open a doorway to a dark realm so she could wind up contacting Tyrone and Tandy by accident. While there’s no telling exactly which dimension Nico and her friends will enter, there’s a very distinct possibility she’ll reach into the Darkforce Dimension.

For those who are unfamiliar with the territory, the Darkforce Dimension has become accessible through Tyrone’s cloak abilities. His teleportation powers allow him to travel throughout our world but they also let Ty interact with different dimensions. Tandy and Ty actually had to venture into the Loa Dimension during the Season 2 Finale, confirming their dimension-hopping capabilities.

What this means for Runaways’ inevitable crossover with Cloak And Dagger’s heroes is that they might not be on Earth the first time they meet. Details regarding Runaways Season 3 already confirmed Nico’s jump to a new dimension will happen. Therefore, it’s feasible for the crossover to happen off-world.

On the other hand, Tandy and Tyrone could be the ones who rescue Chase (Gregg Sulkin), Janet (Ever Carradine), and Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner) from the Gibborum’s grasp. The Pride kids are ill-equipped to take on aliens who are now inhabiting the bodies of Tina Minoru (Brittany Ishibashi), Victor Stein (James Marsters), and Stacey Yorkes (Brigid Brannagh) but perhaps Cloak and Dagger can stop them.

The Gibborum have no idea who Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson are, much less the abilities they possess. And if the alien invaders are caught off-guard, the Gibborum could lose. Of course, fans don’t expect them to lose during their first encounter with Cloak and Dagger.
