On My Block season 3 has started filming

On My Block season 3 is officially in the works. The cast and crew started filming season 3 after contract negotiations nearly derailed the season of the Netflix original series.

We have some great news to share with On My Black fans! On My Block season 3 has started production. All the stars of the Netflix original series are back on set and filming new scenes for the upcoming season.

On My Block season 2 premiered on Netflix in March 2019. The show was renewed for season 3 in April, about one month after the new season premiered.

We hadn’t heard much about On My Block for a while, but then, the news broke that the cast and Netflix were working out contracts for the new season, and it wasn’t going well, according to Deadline. The report even claimed season 3 was basically in “limbo,” so it’s good that the third season is even happening. From the sound of it, there was a real chance this show wasn’t going to come back due to these negotiations.

For those unaware, after season 2, the actors of these shows are eligible to negotiate raises. It happens with almost all popular Netflix shows, like Stranger Things, 13 Reasons Why, and more. It’s a common occurrence.

Netflix announced the news on Twitter via the streaming network’s Strong Black Lead Twitter account. And, we shared the tweet below, which includes a video of the cast celebrating the start of production.

So, when will On My Block season 3 be released on Netflix?

Although the start of the season could have been delayed, I don’t think the new season will be delayed. The first two seasons of the series were released on Netflix in March of 2018 and 2019. Based on that, we’re expecting the third season will be released on Netflix in March or April 2020.

Usually, Netflix releases new seasons of a show like this about a year apart. I think the show works well in the spring. It always arrives at a good time, and Netflix is able to feature this series.
