Netflix has canceled a lot of shows recently, so it wasn’t looking good for Trinkets. But, we’re happy to share the good news! Unfortunately, it’s not all good news for Trinkets fans.
Trinkets season 2 is going to be the conclusion of the show and the second season will serve as the finale we didn’t see coming.
Watch the renewal announcement below!
Based on the novel of the same name by Kirsten Smith, Trinkets landed on Netflix on June 14 and was actually very well received by the fans. Created by Amy Andelson, Emily Meyer and Smith herself, the show follows the life of a grieving teen who finds comfort in the company of her two high school friends.
Starring Brianna Hildebrand, Kiana Madeira, Quintessa Swindell, Brandon Butler, Odiseas Georgiadis, Larry Sullivan and Dana Green, the teen drama not only features characters with different personalities, but it also addresses various common teen issues, making it relatable to watch.

Still, Netflix has gone ahead and announced that Trinkets season 2 will be the final one. Not only that, but the show has also switched showrunners, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Linda Gase who served as the showrunner and executive producer of the show for ten episodes has been replaced by Sarah Goldfinger of Charmed and CSI. It is currently unknown why the change was made, although it’s not uncommon for showrunner changes to happen.
The series is produced by Awesomeness TV. Andelson, Meyer, Gase, Smith, Shelley Zimmerman, Rebecca Glashow, Brin Lukens are executive producers of the series. Don Dunn, Scott Levine and Melanie Kirk are also producers of the series.
According to the report, season 2 will also run for 10 episodes and bring all the cliffhangers to end, leaving no room for a possible third season. The network has been receiving heat from fans for canceling shows. Given how much people loved the first season of Trinkets, we can already see angry fans ranting on social media.
You won’t have to wait too long for new episodes of the series. Trinkets season 2 will be released on the streaming service next year.
