A list of 5 good movies to check out on Netflix this weekend, including the thriller Secret Obsession and Disney’s Princess and the Frog.

Staying in this weekend to beat the heat? In between following the SDCC 2019 tweeting, you’ll want to check out some of the great movies Netflix has to offer. Here are five great movies to check out, including the new Netflix original Secret Obsession and the fan-favorite Disney’s Princess and the Frog.

5. Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein

Well, that was a mouthful to say! Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein was released earlier this week. It’s only 32 minutes long but is classed as a movie by the streaming site. It’s most certainly something to check out when you want a comedy. The movie is completely absurd but in an entertaining way.

4. Secret Obsession

While the trailer seemed to give everything away, you know that you want to see if that was the case. Plus, fans of Suite Life of Zack and Cody will want to see Brenda Song all grown up — although she doesn’t look very different! In this movie, she plays Jennifer, who wakes after an accident with no memory of who she is.

When a man who says he’s her husband takes her to their home, she soon realizes that she may be in some serious danger. Can the police find her in time to save her life?

3. The Break-Up

Love Jennifer Aniston? There’s a rom-com out this week that you’ll want to check out this weekend. The Break-Up also stars Vince Vaughn, and the two make an unlikely pair. They’re so unlikely that the movie starts with them breaking up. The problem is neither one wants to move out. Their friends step in to help get one of them to move out, but things go hilariously wrong.

2. The Iron Lady

One from earlier this month that you may have overlooked is the 2011 movie The Iron Lady. Meryl Streep transforms into the UK’s first female prime minister, Margaret Thatcher. Set in Thatcher’s twilight years, the movie sees the character take a look back throughout her life, focusing on some of the most divisive and questionable decisions she made for the country.

1. Disney’s The Princess and the Frog

Disney’s first black princess, Tiana, takes center stage in this arrival to Netflix. All she wants is to own her own restaurant and it make take kissing a frog to see that dream come true. Okay, a simplified version of the story. There’s a heck of a lot more heart to this movie than that!

I know many people would have expected no more Disney movies to make it to the streaming service, so this has been a pleasant surprise. Now is the time to watch it before Disney decides it doesn’t want to share rights any longer.
