Stranger Things x Nike collection: Unboxing the Blazer Mid collaboration

When the Stranger Things x Nike collaboration was announced, I knew I had to have something from the collection. I decided to pick up a pair of the Blazer Mid shoes.

It was a short time frame between ordering the Stranger Things x Nike Blazer Mid on the morning of July 12 until their arrival on July 16. However, it felt like quite a long wait because I was excited to have them in my hands (and then preferably on my feet).

I’m not someone who usually drops a ton of money on shoes, despite being particular about them. I mostly wear Nike and Vans shoes, but I never really seek out any limited edition ones. My enjoyment of Stranger Things changed my mind about that though.

What I liked the most about the Blazer Mid is that they are a simple design. They have 1985 on the back (19 on the left and 85 on the right). They tongue has the Stranger Things branding and the soles have some Stranger Things content on them.

Other than that, the shoe is just a nice blue (game royal, to be exact) and white sail with a little red here and there.

I took some photos as I unboxed the shoes. It’s not a full look at them, but I am certainly impressed with them. Plus, I didn’t think the price point of $120 was too terribly high, especially knowing that Nike and Netflix probably had to work out some sort of licensing deal.

One other thing to point out is the pin set that comes with the shoes. The set has 3 pins, most of which I imagine would retail for at least $10 each (given what I see enamel pins typically going for). One is the Nike x Stranger Things collaboration, a Welcome to Hawkins one, and the most creative is a shirt-shaped pin from Camp Know Where.
