What to expect from Fear The Walking Dead’s panel at SDCC 2019
By Paul Zuniga
AMC has a number of panels scheduled for San Diego Comic-Con 2019, one which is for Fear The Walking Dead. Here’s what to expect at the event.
Comic-Con International has always been a highlight for fans of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead. New material is usually shown to audiences in attendance as part of AMC’s promotion for upcoming episodes so the event is highly-anticipated every year.
As for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the panel for Fear The Walking Dead remains somewhat of a mystery. Fans anticipate that the panelists on hand will touch on Fear’s connection to the Walking Dead movies though little else is known. And while we don’t have any additional information to go off of, the latest episode of Fear might have already revealed exactly which topics will be broached.
Warning! Potential spoilers for the latest episodes of Fear The Walking Dead follow. Read on at your own discretion.
Viewers who’ve watched “Still Standing” know that the episode concluded with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) accidentally contaminating herself with radioactive walker blood. A huge spray washed across Alicia’s face when she snuffed out a contaminated walker — some of it even getting into her mouth.
The episode itself ended without a confirmation of Alicia’s fate, which is why AMC’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 will probably be used to discuss the matter further. And since no new episodes will air between now and then, it goes to reason that Fear The Walking Dead’s panelists will be on sight to discuss Alicia’s current predicament.
Additionally, AMC’s panel is also likely to include a few teases for the Mid-Season Finale. The Fear panel will take place on Friday so a few hints at Sunday’s episode seem like a distinct possibility. Panelists in attendance obviously won’t spoil the Mid-Season Finale but they should have some intriguing commentary to add.
Last and most important of all, the panel for Fear The Walking Dead will probably be used to tease the back half of Season Five. It’s reportedly going to air shortly after “Is Anybody Out There” so the cast attending SDCC 2019 should be able to share a few insights into what those episodes will entail. Keep in mind that no official release date has been announced for the back half of Season Five.
