Marvel is returning to San Diego Comic-Con this year with multiple panels — one of which is for Agents of SHIELD. Here’s what to expect from the event.

In case you weren’t aware, the most recent episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be the last to air before SDCC 2019. The episode itself ended on a rather major cliffhanger, creating the perfect discussion topic for panelists during the event.

Warning! Spoilers for the latest episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follow. Read on at your own discretion.

In the final moments of “Collision Course Pt. II”, audiences witness Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) walking into Sarge’s cell before putting several bullets in him. The move comes as a surprise considering May’s mild-mannered approach to complex situations. She could have a specific reason for killing him but we’re starting to think not everything is as it appears.

A promo for the following episode — one that will air following the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel next week — depicts May being interrogated for Sarge’s murder. She doesn’t seem to have any knowledge of the event, suggesting some form of amnesia, or she was framed.

Next. Which Hulu Originals will have a presence at SDCC 2019. dark

Whatever the explanation, panelists on site for the event will undoubtedly be asked about the Shrike threat, as well as what the twist ending means for the final episodes. There are three episodes left so fans are definitely going to be interested in how they play out.

There’s also the matter of who Sarge really is/was. Izel mentions that he’s wearing a new skinsuit, implying Sarge has used different identities during his hundred plus years alive. She doesn’t add much else though the notion of Sarge swapping faces gives us the impression that his species is especially important.

Because of that factor, it’s safe to assume Sarge’s home planet will be another subject broached during the SDCC panel. The panelists may or may not be able to answer but the final episodes will probably provide us with the answers we seek.

Lastly, the panel for Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is likely to conclude with a tease of what’s to come in Season Seven. The series was renewed ahead of its’ Season Six premiere so the show’s writers presumably have a teaser prepared — one that will get fans excited but avoids spoiling the Season Six finale.

Our guess is it’ll be a tie-in for the Ghost Rider series coming to Hulu. Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) first appeared on the ABC series so there’s a good chance Season Seven will be used to send him that way. Of course, Hulu’s Ghost Rider could tell the entire story on its’ own.
