Riverdale season 4 has started filming. The new season begins on Oct. 9, 2019, with the season premiere titled “In Memoriam,” which is a tribute to Luke Perry.

Production has started on Riverdale season 4! The cast and crew have returned to Vancouver to start filming the new season of everyone’s favorite teen drama as of Monday, July 8, 2019.

The new season premieres on The CW on Wednesday, Oct. 9. We can’t wait to see the season premiere, especially after that jaw-dropping finale.

Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart, who star as Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper, respectively, in the series, tweeted out information on production starting on the new season just after the Fourth of July weekend.

With 22 new episodes of the series coming within the next 10 months, filming will last through the spring.

Riverdale season 4 is the beginning of a very interesting storyline for teens of the weirdest small town in America. First of all, the season will begin by addressing the death of Luke Perry. Perry played Fred Andrews, the father of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), in the first three seasons of the series, and he passed away last spring after the last few episodes had been written.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner of the series, confirmed the new season would pay tribute to Perry, and the season starts with an episode titled, “In Memoriam,” according to Aguirre-Sacasa. He announced the news on Twitter, as well.

Riverdale season 4 kicks of senior year for the “Core Four” and company. It’s going to be one crazy year, and after foiling plans of several of the show’s villains, there’s going to be some payback coming there way.

We don’t know exactly what’s to come, but the season 3 finale featured an epic flashforward. Archie, Betty and Veronica were standing around a bonfire covered in blood after burning their clothes. They also throw Jughead’s beanie into the fire, as Betty tells them that they can never talk about this moment ever again.

We have no idea what this is referring to. There’s so many possibilities!
