One of the things we can always count on (at least until WarnerMedia launches its streaming service next year) is The CW shows premiering their latest seasons on Netflix one week after their televised finales. That means full seasons of content arrive on your watch list every spring and summer.

Fresh CW seasons have already been dropping and catching the attention of fans that lost track of their favorite shows, but it’s also an opportunity to get into shows you might have missed completely, like the network’s modest hit In the Dark.

In the Dark centers on Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld), a 20-something woman whose blindness and chaotic lifestyle don’t net her a ton of close friendships. However, when she and her guide dog, Pretzel, stumble upon a body, which she suspects to be of her teenage drug dealer friend Tyson, but the body disappears before the police hit the scene. She decides to take the investigation into her own hands and solve the murder, all the while juggling the job she doesn’t enjoy and her interesting dating life.

In the middle of its first season, which pulled moderate but stable ratings, In the Dark scored a surprise second season renewal from The CW. Given that a number of its veteran series have ending or are ending next seasons, it’s smart to bet on launching a new critical darling and keep it around to give it a chance to cultivate an audience.

In the Dark’s first season of 13 episodes has earned positive reception from fans and critics, making this your obvious next choice for a CW show to become head over heels obsessed with when it streams on July 5.
