There will be eight episodes in Stranger Things 3, one less episode than the Stranger Things 2 episode count. We shared the episode titles below!
Stranger Things 3 is almost here! Fans are patiently awaiting the return of Netflix’s best series and want to know how many episodes are in the new season of Stranger Things, which premieres on the streaming service on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
For those hoping for a 20-episode season of Stranger Things, you will be disappointed.
As with the first season of Stranger Things, there are eight episodes in Stranger Things 3. That’s one episode less than Stranger Things 2, which consisted of nine episodes. There are 17 episodes in the first two seasons, and after season 3 premieres, there will be 25 episodes of the series available.
We’re expecting each episode will come in around 45-60 minutes. That’s usually the case with this show, although the story seems to determine the episode length more than time. This isn’t broadcast or network TV, so Netflix can do whatever they want in terms of run time.
Netflix also announced the episode titles for all the episodes of Stranger Things 3 in a trailer posted to YouTube and social media earlier this year. They will probably sound familiar because of that to a few fans of the series.
For those who haven’t seen the episode titles yet, we shared the full list of episode titles below:
- “Suzie, Do You Copy?”
- “The Mall Rats”
- “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard”
- “The Sauna Test”
- “The Source”
- “The Birthday”
- “The Bite”
- “The Battle of the Starcourt”

Stranger Things has shared all the episode titles with us early before each season. It’s always fun to start speculating about what will be happening in each of the episodes of the new season.
I know there are many who want to watch more episodes of Stranger Things, and believe me, I’m with you! I could watch 100 episodes of this show. But, there’s something really great about having so few episodes. It makes every second count so much, and the series always follows the story. We don’t get any storylines stretched too thin or drawn out; it’s always perfectly paced. And, that, to me, is the most important thing with a show like this.
