Like Father was a Netflix Original movie that premiered late last summer. For viewers who missed out on it last year, we highly recommend giving it a chance. It’s a comedy but it also has many heartfelt elements as it involves the relationship between a father and his daughter.

The movie follows Rachel (Bell), a young workaholic who was left at the altar. She decides to still go on her honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, but with her estranged father (Grammer). He too is a workaholic so even though they arrive as strangers, they quickly realize they have a lot in common. They both do their own soul-searching but they soon also learn how much family is important.

The romantic comedy was written and directed by Lauren Miller Rogen. She has previously worked on movies such as Superbad, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and 50/50. The project actually marks her directorial debut in a feature film. Her husband, Seth Rogen also appears in the movie as the man who leaves Rachel before the wedding.
