There can’t be a summer movie recommendation list without a shark movie. This might not be the best shark movie out there but it’s one of the most thrilling. If anything, it will make you rethink any hopes of going into a shark cage.

47 Meters Down centers on two sisters, Kate (Holt) and Lisa (Moore) as they vacation in Mexico. Kate is a certified diver so she convinces Lisa to go watch sharks from a diving cage. She reluctantly agrees so they go with two men on a boat into the open ocean. The pair get into the diving cage but the cable tether is fraying and it eventually breaks, causing the women to sink to the ocean floor. As they are trapped 47 meters down, they are unable to communicate with the men on the ship. Not only do they have to worry about the sharks targeting them, but they must deal with diminishing oxygen levels.

A sequel to the movie, titled 47 Meters Down: Unchanged, is set to hit theaters in August of this year. It follows four teens who go diving in an underwater city that always happens to be the home of a deadly shark.
