Thor: Ragnarok may have been released in the fall of 2017 but it fits well as a summer movie. It’s one of the most thrilling Marvel movies to date. Director Taika Waititi managed to inject a sense of humor into the movie that some Marvel movies tend to lack.

It’s the 17th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and serves as a direct sequel to Thor and Thor: Dark World. In this film, Thor finds himself trapped on the other side of the universe forced into a gladiator battle against the Hulk. The God of Thunder eventually talks his way out of trouble but he must find a way back to Asgard to stop Hela from destroying his homeland. Along the way, Thor finds a few unlikely allies as the movie introduces a number of new characters.

The third Thor film truly stands out for its vivid cinematography. There are a number of beautiful sequences and heavy uses of vibrant colors. The humor is well-timed and the cast has a ton of chemistry making it an overall good time. Be sure to watch it soon because the title will soon disappear as it moves to Disney Plus.
