Despite the fact that it’s a part of the Black Mirror anthology series, Bandersnatch also serves as a standalone movie. It also marks Netflix’s first ever interactive program for adults. It first premiered in late December of last year. Black Mirror creator Charlie Booker wrote the script but it was directed by Davide Slade. His past work includes 30 Days of Night, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, and American Gods.

Bandersnatch follows a young programmer named Stefan (Whitehead) who adapts a choose-your-own-adventure fantasy novel into an interactive video game. As Stefan creates the game, he starts to question his own reality when everything starts to go very wrong. The film is set in 1984 and features the life of a video game developer in that era.

There are numerous paths that viewers are able to take while watching the movie. They get to pick important decisions for the character which means you could watch Bandersnatch a number of times and get different outcomes. The movie has been a hit with viewers so Netflix is in the process of developing more interactive content for the near future.
