After the success of Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost re-teamed with director Edgar Wright for another feature film. Hot Fuzz went on to serve as the second film in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy. The movie is inspired by many action films and was meant to take the buddy cop genre to a new level.

The movie follows Nicholas Angel, a police officer who is transferred from London to the small town of Sandford. The over-achieving officer isn’t too happy to move to a relatively crime-free town which is protected by the Neighborhood Watch due to a lazy police force. He is then partnered with Danny Butterman as things get interesting due to mysterious deaths in the village.

Hot Fuzz features a number of action-packed scenes with explosions, gore, and gun violence. There is also a ton of funny moments due to Pegg and Frost’s on-screen chemistry. The movie notably features Olivia Colman who will soon be seen in Netflix’s new season of The Crown.
