Unicorn Store not only stars Brie Larson in the lead role, but it also marks her directorial debut in a feature film. The movie also features Larson alongside Samuel L. Jackson which they both starred together in this year’s MCU movie, Captain Marvel. The movie was written by Samantha McIntyre.

The fantasy film follows Kit (Larson), an aspiring artist, as she moves back home and takes a temp job at an advertising agency. Matters become worse when the boss makes unwanted advances at her. She then gets a letter from “The Salesman”(Jackson) inviting her to “The Store” to sell her “what she needs.” He then gives her a chance of fulfilling her dream of owning a unicorn.

The feel-good movie was actually filmed in 2016 and made its premiere in 2017’s Toronto International Film Festival. The comedy was finally released to a wider audience on April 5 through Netflix. Unicorn Store rode on the popularity that Larson created with her role as Captain Marvel, which premiered shortly before Unicorn Store‘s debut on Netflix.
