Amazon has agreed to cancel Netflix’s Stranger Things if Netflix cancels Good Omens. Yes, you read that correctly, and it’s all part of the funniest news of the week!

So, here’s what happened: a group started a petition in protest of Amazon’s Good Omens. Unfortunately, the petition was directed at the wrong streaming network! Instead of petitioning Amazon to cancel their series Good Omens, the petition called on Netflix to cancel the Amazon series.

The petition blew up on social media, and finally, Netflix and Amazon got involved.

On Twitter, Netflix jokingly promised not to make the series anymore, according to a report from ComicBook.com. The Guardian first reported the news of the petition.

Later, Amazon got in on the fun, and they claimed they would cancel Netflix’s Stranger Things if Netflix canceled Good Omens.

Man, I have a love-hate relationship with the internet. I love that Amazon and Netflix can be good spirits about something so ridiculous, but I also hate that this was even a thing in the first place. The world keeps spinning…

Good Omens is probably Amazon’s most popular series right now. It’s my favorite original show or movie they’ve made so far, and it’s highly enjoyable with excellent performances from David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The series is based on the book of the same name written by Neil Gaiman.

Stranger Things, on the other hand, is Netflix’s most popular show of all time, and it’s coming back for its third season on July 4!

It’s good to see Amazon and Netflix getting along. It doesn’t seem there is any bad blood between the two rival streaming services. Netflix has been the top dog in the streaming industry for a while, and they should continue to be the no. 1 option for fans moving forward. Disney will pose some problems with Disney Plus, but there’s definitely a lot more shows and movies on Netflix. And, I think fans would rather have all three streaming services.
