Kali: Activist

While we only got to see Kali aka “Eight” in a few episodes, based on her characterization, she would be an incredible activist.

She is a natural leader and able to bring people together around a common cause. Not everyone in her gang is a person with power, yet they still stick around and help to get the justice Kali is looking for. It’s hard to bring people to a cause that doesn’t affect them, but she was able to do it.

After being subjected to numerous experiments and what amounts to child abuse and torture, Kali eventually escapes the lab where Eleven and she are kept. When we see her again, she is hellbent on revenge. She wants the people who did all those awful things to her to pay, and she’s willing to use her powers to ensure that happens.

Kali would make such a brilliant activist because she is not afraid to do the hard work to make sure those in power who are hurting others get what they deserve. Her methods may not be the best, and that ends up showing how different Eleven and she are, but she still has the energy needed to try to get some justice for herself and the other kids.

Even as a young kid, she recognized how abusive and dangerous it was that the government decided it was totally okay to just abduct children for their own selfish purposes. Kali’s execution may be wrong (no pun intended) but her motives are pure.
