Jessica Jones season 3 is coming to Netflix tonight

The third and final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones hits Netflix tonight. Season 3 will be the last new release of the Marvel shows after their cancellations in the last year.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones season 3 is coming to Netflix tonight. If fans stay up late, binge-watching can start at 12:01 a.m. PT on Friday, June 14. That’s the time Netflix releases all their new shows and movies, and Jessica Jones season 3 should be no exception.

Another season, another mystery for Jessica Jones to solve. One of Marvel’s premiere shows is coming to an end. Since 2015, Netflix has had a stranglehold on the Marvel television estate, but after Disney released their plans for Disney+, those Marvel shows were canceled.

Jessica Jones is a comic book character created by Brian Michael Bendis and artist Michael Gaydos in 2001. She was brought to Netflix in 2015 along with Daredevil and eventually the rest of The Defenders.

Jessica’s story revolved around Kilgrave, her former lover and controller of her mind. His mind control over her made her commit crimes and even a murder, which led her to mingle with Luke Cage. He would then go on to star in his own series, Luke Cage. As the show progressed though, the villain pool ran a bit thin. Critics always praised Krysten Ritter’s performance as Jessica, but it seemed the story was a bit underwhelming at times.

Overall though, the show is excellent and it’s a shame it had to be canceled. Of course, Marvel is a Disney property and it’s a business move. After the success of the first two seasons and the upcoming third, maybe Jessica Jones can find a new home on Disney+ with new stories to tell.

The third season trailer features a new tormenting villain and will further investigate the true nature of Jessica. Plus, her sister Trish seems to be coming into her own style of vigilantism (perhaps leading to her comic book origins). Together, they will fight against the highly intelligent psychopath and possibly rid New York City of another villain.
