With the Hero Association’s leaders out of the picture, who will step up to unite the world’s heroes? Could Saitama fill that void on One-Punch Man?

Fans who’ve seen the latest episode of One-Punch Man know that the episode concluded with a monster infiltrating the Hero Association. The monster in question didn’t just pick a random hero to assume control of, instead, he chose someone close to the high-ranking officials of the Hero Association.

At the end of Episode 21 “Troubles of the Strongest”, the compromised employee barges into the HA main chamber. He informs the council that the Monster Association has sent them a message but that’s when his monstrous appearance begins to manifest itself. The episode closes out shortly after, of course, it’s safe to assume this monster is going to devour the entire high council.

Assuming that is the case, there won’t be any leadership to organize the world’s heroes following the monster’s latest attacks. They’re all currently dispatched, but without a well-conceived plan, the heroes are going to scramble. They’ll essentially be swapping places with the monsters since humans will be the ones hunted down.

There is, however, a chance that the heroes will lead themselves. No one specific comes to mind but Saitama could be the right guy for the job. He’s been somewhat conflicted over his duties as a hero, although a position as leader would suit his skill set. He’s strong enough and possesses the qualities of a worthy leader — why not make him one?

Additionally, Saitama holds some deep ties to several well-known heroes who would come to his aid. Those connections include affiliations with the Blizzard Group, King, Genos, Mumen Rider, Silver Fang, Suiryu and many others. Not everyone is fit to lead but positions as Lieutenants or CO’s could work for them.

What’s more, is Saitama’s group could restart the entire Hero Association if the top-ranking officials meet untimely ends. The current HA has established a hierarchy among its members but new leadership could change things so everyone is considered equal. Saitama has already shaken up the rankings which makes it fitting for him to tear them down.
