Riverdale has rightfully earned its reputation as one of the wildest shows on TV, and these 15 shocking twists prove its unique craziness.

When the world heard the words “Archie Comics reboot,” we could have never imagined that the concept would result in Riverdale, a teen drama featuring serial killers, gangs, dangerous drugs, and maple syrup-centric feuds. But now that the hit series has wrapped three blissfully ridiculous seasons (and counting) and blessed us with more dark and twisted moments that inspire us to roll our eyes and say, “Only in Riverdale,” we wouldn’t have it any other way.

But which moments are most emblematic of Riverdale’s commitment to giving its viewers a good, old-fashioned shock? For starters, the first season kicked things off with a murder mystery culminating in an unbelievable reveal about the killer and a long-kept secret involving incest, no less. There’s also the debut of Betty’s unhinged alter ego, “Dark Betty,” which makes all the more sense with the unthinkable Black Hood twist in season 2.

Throughout each episode, there are lines of dialogue and sequences that you would never hear or see in any other series. But for every obscure reference Veronica makes, there’s a moment like Archie’s bear attack or the jaw-dropping reveal of the Gargoyle King’s identity in the third season. You have to be 100% on board to take the ride with Riverdale, or you won’t have the requisite sense of humor about Jingle Jangle, Gryphons & Gargoyles, or Cheryl’s surprising bow and arrow prowess.

Which of the series’ twists were the most shocking? Here are 15 of the craziest storylines from the first three seasons that will without a doubt make you say, “Only in Riverdale!”
