Lucifer season 5 renewal should be coming in the next week

It’s almost been one month since the release of Lucifer season 4, and that means we’re getting ready for Netflix to announce the Lucifer season 5 renewal soon.

Fans around the world are wondering if and when Netflix is going to renew Lucifer for season 5. Based on Netflix’s history of renewals, the Lucifer season 5 renewal announcement could come anytime in the next week.

Lucifer is one of the best new Netflix original shows, and it seems very likely that Netflix will renew the series for season 5. Unfortunately, that renewal announcement has not been made yet, but it could be here pretty soon.

UPDATE: Lucifer is coming back for season 5

Predicting whether or not Netflix is going to renew a series is tricky business. Predicting the day they’ll announce a renewal is nearly impossible, but they do have a pattern for some big shows. Before we proceed, I need to point out that this is just a prediction based on Netflix trends. Netflix has not confirmed if Lucifer season 5 is happening or not.

Lucifer season 5 premiered on Netflix on May 8, 2019. Usually, Netflix waits about a month until they announce if a show is renewed. Most recently, Netflix renewed Dead to Me for season 2 on June 3, exactly one month after the series premiered on Netflix on May 3.

If Netflix follows that pattern, we should learn of the Lucifer season 5 renewal on or around Saturday, June 8. I doubt Netflix will announce the Lucifer season 5 renewal over the weekend. It makes much more sense to announce the renewal on Friday, June 7, or on Monday, June 10.

There is some variance with this, of course. Netflix doesn’t always announce renewals or cancellations one month from the release date. Some shows take less time, while others take even more. The Lucifer season 5 renewal news could be announced any day now.

There’s definitely enough data now for Netflix to make their decision on if Lucifer is coming back for a new season. It’s been nearly a month, and Lucifer is one of the most popular shows on Netflix if it’s not THE most popular show on Netflix. The fourth season was awesome, and I think the cast, crew and writing team have done all they can to get this show renewed for season 5, and so have the fans. If Netflix doesn’t renew the show for season 5, it’s on them.
