Riverdale never pulls any punches when it comes to their sometimes truly bizarre storylines, but some are weirder than others. Here are 5 of those moments.

Are there more than five strange, weird, and/or shocking moments from the last three seasons of Riverdale? Absolutely. But some outshine all the others. What can you expect from a show with this much drama? Riverdale is not your average teenage show.

There’s murders, gang wars, conspiracies, and Cheryl Blossom. Things aren’t going to be normal.

Here are the top five moments where fans may have wondered what was going on inside the writer’s room. Spoilers ahead!

Singing in front of the jail

After being set up by Veronica’s father, Hiram, for murder, Archie is put on trial and pleads guilty when it looks like he might have to go through the trial process again. He is then sent to juvenile detention for two years. It was a genuinely interesting plot line on the show, but then…they brought in the music.

More from Riverdale

Music has been part of the show since its inception, but normally it was done at a party or on stage. Not in front of a prison. But Veronica wanted to cheer up Archie, so she decided to grab the River Vixens and sing “Jailhouse Rock” to everyone in the detention yard. Needless to say, it’s one of the more memorable moments on the show.

Archie starts a gang

Archie is not the best when it comes to decision-making. He keeps secrets when he shouldn’t and resorts to violence when that’s the last thing that would help the situation. Do we all remember him sitting by his front door with a baseball bat? Yeah, not the best decision.

But possibly even worse than that was when Archie started a gang named The Red Circle. They were meant to watch the neighborhood for sightings of the Black Hood. But what starts off as good intentions soon turns into Archie making a threatening video with him and his gang in red masks. While Archie keeps saying they aren’t a vigilante group, they totally are.
