10 movies and shows to watch on Netflix on Memorial Day, including Riverdale, Lucifer, and more!

Happy Memorial Day! We picked five movies and five TV shows to watch on Netflix on Memorial Day, including Lucifer, Riverdale, Rim of the World and more.

There’s something for everyone to watch on Memorial Day! Let’s get the list started with the shows.

TV Shows

Dead to Me

Dead to Me stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini and was released on Netflix at the beginning of May. This dark comedy and thriller tells the story of Jen, a woman trying to get over the death of her husband and find his killer, and that’s when she meets  Judy at a grief counseling session.

Lucifer

Lucifer season 4 just hit Netflix at the beginning of May. The season is the show’s first as a Netflix original series after Netflix saved the series.

The series tells the story of Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who leaves Hell to come to the real world. There, he helps the LAPD solve various crimes.

The first four seasons of the series are now on Netflix, which makes it a great binge-watch on Memorial Day. We’re still waiting for Lucifer to be renewed for season 5. Fans shouldn’t be panicking just yet, though! This show is one of the most popular shows on the streaming service right now.

Riverdale

Riverdale season 3 is now on Netflix! The full season was just added to the streaming service on Thursday, May 23. This show is one of the most popular on the streaming service, so you know fans will be tuning in all weekend long!

Riverdale follows a group of teens living and trying to survive the town of Riverdale, which has a little bit of everything, murder, drug dealing, and of course, tons of mysteries.

The show also features a great cast led by Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, KJ Apa and Camila Mendes. If you haven’t seen this show, check it out on Netflix today.

The Society

What happens to a town when all the adults and young kids are gone, but the teens remain? That’s what The Society explores. It’s like a modern-day Lord of the Flies set in a small, weird town.

If you like Riverdale and need a good teen show to watch, The Society is a great show to watch. Check it out on the streaming service this weekend.

Outlander

Outlander is finally on Netflix US! The first two seasons of the series were added to Netflix today (May 27). The series is based on the best-selling book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon.

In the series, Claire is transported back in time to the 1700s where she meets Jamie, a warrior from the Highlands. If the first two seasons are on Netflix, it won’t be long for the rest of the series to hit the streaming service.

Movies

See You Yesterday

Like Outlander, See You Yesterday is another time travel story, and that’s the only similarity between the two stories. The film, which is produced by Spike Lee and directed by Stefon Bristol, tells the story of a CJ, a genius who travels back in time to save her brother’s life. Unfortunately, her actions change the future.

See You Yesterday is a new Netflix original film, so you probably haven’t seen it yet!

The Last Summer

The Last Summer is another new Netflix original film. The romantic comedy premiered on the streaming service at the beginning of the month. It follows a group of teens through the summer before they go off to college. Maia Mitchell, KJ Apa, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage, Sosie Bacon, Tyler Posey, and more.

This movie is a bit on the cheesy side, so if you’re not into that, you probably want to skip this movie.

Moonlight

Moonlight was just added to Netlix on May 21. The film was directed by Barry Jenkins and tells the story of Chiron through three stages of his young life.

The film joins a small group of Best Picture winners on the streaming service. You should definitely check it out if you STILL haven’t seen this great movie!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

We had to include this one for the Marvel fans, and that’s because this hit movie is leaving Netflix in June. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been on Netflix for more than a year, so most of you have seen this movie. If not, watch it before it leaves the streaming service.

Rim of the World

Rim of the World is the most recent Netflix original film to hit the streaming service. The film follows four friends who are exploring the hills at their summer camp when the Earth is attacked by aliens. Together, the kids use their expertise to try to stop the invasion.

This movie is awesome! I loved it. There have been some negative reviews, but this is exactly the type of movie Netflix needs to be making. It’s very entertaining.
