Season: 3

Release Date: TBA

It’s no secret that Netflix recently cleaned house and canceled what felt like a ton of original series. Unfortunately, the sweep took out its entire roster of Marvel series for reasons having to do with behind the scenes business deals with Disney. Even though the series will continue to stream on the platform, no new episodes will be produced as Marvel goes in a different direction. However, you can still catch one final season of Jessica Jones when the third season premieres this June (date to be announced as of this writing) and finishes the story.

Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as the title character, a private investigator who must later piece her life back together after killing her mentor. She becomes known throughout New York City as a superpowered killer, which forces her to take a deeper look at herself and her past to figure out why she’s gained this reputation. Details of the final season’s plot have been largely kept under wraps, though it has been announced that Ritter will make her directorial debut with one of the season’s 13 episodes.

The series originally premiered on Netflix in 2015 and quickly earned positive reviews from critics and Marvel fans alike. Jessica Jones later joined the rest of Netflix’s Marvel characters for The Defenders miniseries, though the rest of those individual series have already aired their final seasons. Although binge-watching the third season will be a bittersweet occasion for fans knowing that the series won’t continue, bidding a fitting farewell to Jessica Jones will be well worth it. Keep a weekend in June wide open to see how it all ends.
