If you currently have a Netflix subscription, then it’s highly likely that you have already watched (and rewatched and rewatched) Parks and Recreation. The underrated comedy has become one of the leading binge-watches on the streaming giant, and it’s no wonder why. It’s one of the most hopeful and downright funny comedies of all time. Even if you have watched all seven seasons multiple times, Parks and Rec remains one of the best complete series on Netflix, and it’s never a bad time to treat yourself with a binge-watch.

For those who haven’t yet taken a trip to Pawnee, Indiana, Parks and Recreation centers on the day-to-day bureaucratic duties of the small town’s parks department. Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) uses her ambition to help form a task force to turn a dangerous pit into a beautiful park. Throughout the series, Leslie leans on her friends as she follows her political passions to higher offices in order to make the world a better place. The series features an enviable cast, a murderer’s row of guest stars, and in-jokes so quotable you’ll keep hitting “next episode.”

During its run on NBC, Parks and Recreation was never a significant ratings smash, but its dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim kept the Pawnee Parks Department coming back for more. The series earned 14 Primetime Emmy Award nominations (criminally never winning one) and won a Golden Globe for Amy Poehler’s performance in 2014. Since ending its seven-season run, Parks and Rec has enjoyed a second wind thanks to streaming, with new fans continuing to find and quote its hilariously heart-warming stories. It’s never too soon to head back to Pawnee.
