Lucifer season 4 premieres on Netflix on May 8, 2019. It was one of the biggest Netflix shows of the year so far, and now, fans are eager to find out any information about Lucifer season 5, and we wanted to share what we know about the season so far.

We don’t know a lot about the season yet, and that’s by design. Netflix likes to keep things from the public until they’re ready to announce the new information about their original shows.

Renewed or Canceled?

Lucifer is coming back for a fifth and final season on Netflix. The streaming network just announced the news on Twitter!

Release Date

Assuming Lucifer is renewed for season 5, and I think it will be, Lucifer season 5 will likely be released on Netflix next spring.

There’s usually a one-year gap between seasons of a Netflix show like Lucifer, and if that’s the case for season 5, we should see the new season on the streaming service in May 2020.

That’s the best prediction we can make at this point. It seems like that’s a great time for Netflix to release new seasons of this show, too. May is a good month for new shows, especially because there are so many shows winding down on traditional networks. It’s a good move for Netflix to keep giving viewers good content right when they need something else to watch.

What will happen in season 5?

We don’t know exactly what the writers have in store for season 5, but there are a few things the writers will need to address as soon as the season starts.

At the end of season 4, Lucifer returns to Hell to take his rightful place. Obviously, that seems like a good chance to explore Lucifer in the underworld, but that’s not what this show is about. This show is about Lucifer on Earth and his interaction with the other characters in the show, so I have a feeling Lucifer won’t stay down below for too long. He’ll have to come back.

And, that’s where the season 5 fireworks for really begin!

We know the creators of the series, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson, already have some big ideas for season 5. We just have to wait until we find out what they’re working on soon!
