9. Castle

If Netflix is great at something it’s their crime-drama department. Well, Netflix is king of many genres, too, such as romantic comedies, but you can’t deny all the crime documentaries and dramas are all so intriguing.

What Netflix needs to complete the genre is Castle, a police crime-drama with a splash of comedy. The series ran for eight seasons on ABC, from 2009 to 2016. It stars Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Susan Sullivan among others.

Castle follows the lives of Richard Castle (Fillion) a mystery novelist, and Kate (Katic), a homicide detective. Together, the unlikely pair solve crimes across New York City. They don’t purposely team up, though. In fact,  and Kate is reluctant to have a writer tag along with her, but it’s not long before the two form a special bond and make an amazing team.

It’s possible that the reason Castle isn’t available on Netflix because it is now a Disney property. This isn’t all bad news, though, this could mean that the series will be streaming on Disney + when that service becomes available later this year.

In the meantime, you’ll have to rent the series on Vudu or Amazon Prime to watch it. Is this the first you learn about Castle or have you been a fan for years?
