13. Teen Titans

The mysterious case of the animated Teen Titans still confuses me. The Cartoon Network series was never appreciated while it aired. Teen Titans ran for five seasons, but it struggled with ratings towards the end.

After the cartoon was canceled, reruns of the episodes began to reach more audiences and it eventually became one of Cartoon Network’s most popular and critically acclaimed shows. The TV movie Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo was soon released.

As a fan of the original series, I’m disappointed that, despite the popularity, Cartoon Network (or any other network, for that matter) never brought the show back for another season. Instead, a spin-off titled Teen Titans Go! debuted, which targets a different much different, younger audience.

This new cartoon still follows Robin as he leads Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg, but it’s not the mature series we fell in love with. What a shame. Still, it worked for Cartoon Network, though, Teen Titans Go! is very popular and even premiered a movie in theaters, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, which did fairly well.

Where can you watch the original Teen Titans if not at Netflix? Cartoon Network has them all available online! The DC Universe streaming service also has all of the episodes.
