15. Wizards of Waverly Place

Hello, childhood! Who else remembers Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place being their jam? This is one of the first shows I remember adding a spin to the traditional family sitcoms – fantasy! That’s right, in case you don’t know much about the comedy (and if the name didn’t give it away) Wizards of Waverly Place follows a family of wizards.

The series starred Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, and Jennifer Stone. Despite being incredibly popular, and even though it feels as if the comedy was around for several years, it only ran for four seasons. Wizards of Waverly Place did have two follow-up specials, though, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie and The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex.

In the series, Gomez, Henrie, and Austin trained and practiced their magical abilities to ultimately compete to become the wizard of the family. Because the rules in the wizarding world are that there can only one person per family allowed to keep their powers.

Selena Gomez may be a megastar now, but we would love to catch up with the characters in another special. Think about it, a special will be packed with nostalgia and what the winner of the wizard powers has been doing with the abilities. Nope, we don’t be spoiling who wins! You’ll have to find out yourself whenever you’re able to stream it. Unfortunately, unless you catch reruns on Disney Channel, there isn’t a network that has all the episodes.
