Netflix should save Star after Fox canceled the show. The musical drama starring Jude Demorest would make a great fit at the streaming network.

Fox canceled Star after three successful seasons on the network. Star was a very popular show for the network, and it pulled a decent rating for Fox over those three years.

Since the TV show was canceled, fans have been begging Netflix to save the series, and we don’t blame them. Netflix has saved a few shows after they were canceled at other networks. We can’t say for sure if Netflix is going to save this show, but you can guarantee Netflix’s people are looking into to see if it is possible and it can help the network.

Netflix should save Star after the series was canceled, and it makes a lot of sense. First of all, the show is an established brand with a lot of fans, millions even. That’s a great place for growth from Netflix.

If they save the series, the streaming network could easily work out a deal to get the first three seasons on the streaming service. Right now, those seasons are on Hulu. So, they’d be getting an established product and taking a popular show from their competitor. That checks two boxes.

In addition, Star is a good show with a great future. Fans are always looking for shows to binge-watch on the streaming service. Nothing makes that more possible than adding 50-plus episodes of a series on one day or within a short span.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, the show fills a void of programming on Netflix. Netflix has few musical dramas available to stream, and although they might have some in development, this is a quick way to fill that void that could pay off down the road.

Netflix has already seen major success if saving shows that were canceled at other networks. Lucifer, which just had its fourth season premiere on Netflix in May, is one of the best examples of this.

The streaming network took a series with a big fanbase, like Star, and gave fans a chance to support the series. I don’t know how many subscribers Netflix won over by saving Lucifer, but I’m guessing it was worth the investment based on the buzz surrounding the series and the unofficial ratings.

It seems like a great idea for Netflix to save Star, and we hope it happens soon.
