Riverdale, Arrow, The Flash and Supernatural to remain on Netflix after The CW expired. New CW shows could also make their way to Netflix after they air.

Many of The CW shows will be leaving Netflix. According to a report from Deadline, The CW opted out of renewing the deal with Netflix that brought TV shows like Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale and more to the streaming service.

There’s a bright side to this, though. The Flash, Riverdale and all the other current CW shows will stay on Netflix until they end on The CW. Netflix keeps the streaming rights to all current shows from the 2018-19 season and before until the shows finish their run on The CW. Those shows are also expected to stay on Netflix for a period of time after they end.

It’s unclear which, if any, shows will be leaving Netflix in the near future as a result of the deal expiring. We’ll let you know more about this when we find out more information.

Many new seasons of The CW shows are on the way in the near future! The Flash, Arrow, Riverdale and more are scheduled to arrive next week. We’ve already seen Supernatural season 14 added to the streaming service earlier this month. It’s a good time to catch up on all your favorite CW shows on the streaming service now.

The deal expiring doesn’t mean that The CW shows, especially new ones, will never be added to the streaming service, according to the report. The streaming network can still bid on these shows and their streaming rights, so there’s a chance we could still see Katy Keene, Nancy Drew and Batwoman on Netflix next year, but Netflix will have to bid for those shows like they do with shows from NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS and other networks.

This deal was expected to expire without the two sides agreeing to new terms, and that’s because many of these shows will be moving to the WarnerMedia streaming service soon. Almost all of The CW shows in this deal were distributed by Warner Bros. TV, and all their shows are expected to be released on the upcoming streaming service.

This is kind of a bummer for fans of The CW shows. It was great to have all the shows added eight days after the season finale airs on The CW. It’s not the end of the world, and it’s not nearly the blow to Netflix that it could have been. We thought there was a chance The CW and Warner Bros. TV could have pulled all their shows from Netflix at one time.
