4. Set It Up

Everyone has had a terrible boss or two, but Set It Up takes it to a whole other level. The film follows Harper and Charlie who both have tough, demanding bosses. Kirsten and Rick expect nothing but perfection and then some. But once Harper and Charlie meet, they devise a plan to actually get some free time. They’ll make their bosses fall in love with each other.

Set It Up stars Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell, Lucy Liu, Taye Diggs, Joan Smalls, Meredith Hagner, Pete Davidson, Jon Rudnitsky, and Tituss Burgess.

The question is: how are they going to get their bosses together? The first step is the meet-cute. They plan to have their bosses get stuck in the same elevator together. It…doesn’t go well. A delivery man ends up in there with them and begins stripping due to his claustrophobia.

They move to plan B and have them meet at a baseball game. This one works like a charm and Rick and Kirsten begin dating, giving Harper and Charlie time to themselves.

But relationships are hard and Rick and Kirsten’s relationship hits some road bumps causing Charlie and Harper to step in again and again to keep their independence. As they work together, the two eventually begin to have feelings for each other.

Set It Up is the film that started Netflix’s spree of hit rom-coms and with the great cast and compelling story, it definitely deserves that spot.
