Need something new to watch on Netflix this weekend? Here’s a short list of 5 great movies you should definitely check out. There’s a little something for everyone on the streaming service this month!
Let’s get the list of Netflix movie recommendations started with Amy Poehler’s new comedy, Wine Country!
Wine Country
It’s easy to get hyped for this new movie. It’s a girl power comedy that comes from the mind of Poehler. Poehler also stars in the film, alongside other great comedy vets like Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Tina Fey, just to name a few. Check out the movie’s trailer, which spins a story of ladies cutting loose during a celebratory vacation in—you guessed it—wine country.

Insidious
If you’re brave enough, check out Insidious. This freaky flick centers on a young boy whose body is being overrun by unwelcome ghosts. Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson star.
Dumb and Dumber
As its name would imply, Dumb and Dumber isn’t exactly a refined comedy. Still, it’s an absolute must-watch of the genre. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are at their best as two best friends on an ill-planned mission to return a lost briefcase to a beautiful woman.

Wedding Crashers
Wedding Crashers is another great buddy comedy that has recently arrived on Netflix. It follows the story of two best buds who have a unique shared hobby: they crash weddings in order to land desperate women. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson play this delightfully misguided pair and they are seriously a riot together.
The Matrix
If The Matrix is on Netflix, you’re pretty much obligated to watch it, right? This trilogy was completely groundbreaking, forever shaping the science fiction genre. It’s full of hidden meaning, prime action and a story you’ll analyze for days to come. Lucky you: all three of the trilogy’s movies are currently available for your viewing pleasure.
