After all the reports, Netflix still hasn’t confirmed The Ranch is ending

After all the reports of The Ranch ending after season 4, Netflix has not confirmed the end of the Netflix original series or commented on the news.

If you believe the reports, The Ranch season 4 is the final season of the Netflix original series. Deadline and Variety each reported the news around the Oscars when doing profiles of Sam Elliott, the star of the series, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in A Star is Born. 

Netflix didn’t confirm or deny the news. As far as we can tell, it doesn’t look like they commented on the news The Ranch was ending.

At that point in time, The Ranch had already filmed Part 7, which wrapped at the end of 2018, according to social media posts from those who attended the live tapings. Part 8 was filmed this year and just wrapped production on the series at the beginning of May, according to a report from The Blast. All the episodes Netflix has ordered of The Ranch have been filmed.

The Blast also reported the cast and crew had a wrap party for the series in May to celebrate all their work on the show and the show ending. According to the report, the producers would have continued making new episodes of the show, but Netflix decided that four seasons of the series were enough.

Since then, Netflix has not commented on the news of the cast and crew wrapping production on the full series.

So, is this really the end of The Ranch? 

As we have said before, it seems like it is. Netflix, nor anyone involved with the series, has made any comment to correct the record or say the series is ending after this season, it’s coming back for season 5, or if it’s all still up in the air. One would think that, if the series was possibly coming back, someone would have spoken up by now.

Because they haven’t, we have to assume the reports that The Ranch is ending after season 4 is correct. We’ve been monitoring the situation closely, and that’s as much as we can gather at this point.

Of course, we’ll continue to let you know any news about The Ranch when we find out. The show ending is probably not the worst thing in the world. If it does end after this season, at least Netflix gave the show 20 episodes to finish telling its story. Many shows get less, and most shows don’t get any chance for closure at all. It’s always good to see Netflix give a show a little extra time to prep the end than canceling the show after the season airs.

Part 7 is expected to be released on Netflix in June 2019. Netflix hasn’t officially announced the release date yet, but that should be coming any day now. Part 7 will also consist of 10 episodes, with Part 8 rounding out the season, and probably the series, with 10 episodes in December 2019.
