Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

America’s obsession with the macabre never seems to die and Netflix is cashing in. This Friday, May 3, a new Ted Bundy biopic arrives on the streaming service. Heartthrob Zac Efron stars as the serial killer himself, likely in an attempt to portray Bundy’s signature charm that allowed him to get away with his crimes for so long.

The Last Summer

Another original film out on May 3 is the teen drama The Last Summer. Riverdale’s KJ Apa stars in this story about a group of teens preparing to leave their youthful high school days behind. Netflix has always done well with the teen flicks (To All the Boys, The Kissing Booth. . . need I go on?), so this film has the potential to be huge.

Maia Mitchell, Tyler Posey, Jacob Latimore, and Halston Sage also star in the Netflix original film.

Austin Powers

How could we not include Austin Powers on this list? This classic spy comedy stars Mike Myers in his glory days. Netflix is giving us a two for one, as both International Man of Mystery and The Spy Who Shagged Me have recently premiered.

Scream

The Dark Crystal
