Designated Survivor season 3 trailer: Fight has just begun

Netflix shared the full-length trailer for Designated Survivor season 3 starring Kiefer Sutherland. Watch the full season on Netflix on June 7.

Designated Survivor season 3 is coming to Netflix on June 7, and now, we have our first official look at the first Netflix original season of the series!

For those who don’t know, the first two seasons of the show aired on ABC, and those seasons were not added to Netflix US. After the second season, ABC canceled the series in a surprising move. The show had decent ratings at the time, and Netflix pounced. The streaming network saved the series from cancellation and ordered a third season of the series, which premieres on June 7.

There are a number of directions the series could take in the new season. Based on the trailer, it appears President Kirkman is struggling with the decision to run for President after putting his foot in his mouth during a recent speech that has the nation divided.

Kiefer Sutherland stars in the series as Presiden Kirkman. He’s joined by Kal Penn, Jamie Clayton, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, Paulo Costanzo and more.

If you have not caught up with Designated Survivor, you have plenty of time to do so before the new season premieres. The first two seasons were added to Netflix after the streaming service revived the series and ordered the third season. With a little more than a month before the season 3 release date, you can definitely binge-watch the first two seasons before starting the third season.

Designated Survivor fills a big, political TV show void at Netflix. House of Cards is Netflix’s biggest and best political series, but that show is over now, and it’s last few seasons were not nearly as good as the beginning of the series. Hopefully, Designated Survivor helps fill that void for Netflix subscribers. It also just proves how much Netflix is still relying on shows that have been canceled at other networks.
