Get wrapped up in a mystery-drama

Searching for something a little deeper? A series that’ll get you thinking and gasping? Nothing like getting lost in a good story, and Netflix has plenty of addicting content:

  • You
  • The Imposters
  • Quicksand
  • Sex Education
  • Umbrella Academy
  • Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

From the top! You follows serial stalker Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley. Viewers will find themselves confused as you’ll want to love Joe when you really shouldn’t. Soon after its debut on the streaming service, You became everyone’s latest obsession on Netflix. Expect chills and to follow along an intriguing story that only gets more and more crazy. Season 1 is streaming on Netflix, the premiere date for season 2 has yet to be revealed.

The Imposters is fairly similar to You in the sense that trouble and drama only gets bigger by the episode. It won’t take long before you’re wondering how on earth everything will be resolved. The first two seasons of the Bravo series are streaming on Netflix. Unfortunately, the series has been canceled, a petition online calls the streaming giant to save it for a third and final season.

I binged all of Quicksand pretty quickly as the first episode pulls me right in. However, I would only recommend it if you have time and patience. The original language spoken is Swedish, so the translations are often off and the acting isn’t the best. Please note: This show is not for the lighthearted!

In Sex Education, there isn’t much mystery to follow, but there is a lot of drama to keep up with. It also features a brilliant cast and award-worthy performances.

Umbrella Academy is a must-watch, whether you’re trying to get over your broken feels after Endgame or not. With the Marvel-Netflix Universe ending (Jessica Jones season 3 still needs to premiere), Umbrella Academy will definitely fill the void left by the original Avengers.

Finally, there’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile! Netflix subscribers are excited for this one, a movie that follows the horrifying crimes of Ted Bundy, portrayed by Zac Efron, streaming now on Netflix. This one isn’t as soothing as many of the other suggestions, in fact, many may find it upsetting (it is about Ted Bundy, after all). But one thing it’ll certainly do is completely take your mind off anything Marvel.
