Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – Small Crimes

The moral ambiguity of these corrupt characters must draw Nikolaj Coster-Waldau since in this film he portrays an ex-con, ex-cop who had ties to the mob. Joe Denton (Coster-Waldau) is released from prison but is quickly thrust back into his past corruptions as he is tasked with a mob-related assassination. Denton is pestered by his past alliances and enemies in a story that has many characters serving many masters. His pathological lying and deception play a role in the twisted story he may believe himself most of the time, but everything comes to a head eventually.

Coster-Waldau is best known as Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones. The twin brother of Cersei and older brother to Tyrion. Jaime was once known as the greatest swordsman in Westeros, but his journey through these past eight years have taken that away from him. In one swift hack to the wrist, Jaime’s entire life and demeanor greatly altered. His once proud path turned into a morality question of if he was on the side of good or bad. Is his sister actually the worst? Is his dad, Tywin, one of the most heinous players in the game? These revelations twist his mind and heart into a tragic hero figure as he seeks redemption from those he wronged in his past.

This is a small sampling of Game of Thrones actors and actresses in streamable content. The small roles in the hit television series create other opportunities for these talented actors to embark on. Series like After Life or films like Outlaw King features the likes of Walder Frey (David Bradley), Jeor Mormont (James Cosmo), Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), and many others. If there’s a British based show out there, chances are that one, if not many, Game of Thrones actors are in the credits.
