Renewed: Fuller House

Renewed for: Season 5

What it’s about: A revival of the popular 90s comedy Full HouseFuller House continues the story of D.J., Stephanie, and many more. When D.J. is widowed and needs to move into her childhood home with her children to live with her sister, it’s a recipe for disaster and horrors. However, it’s also a recipe for more family bonding and dealing with grief and loss.

Over the last four seasons, we’ve watched as couples have dealt with infertility, managed pregnancy via surrogacy, and dealt with loss and moving on. At the same time, it’s made fans laugh, cry, and feel for the characters.

Why the renewal is good: This is a bittersweet renewal. While Fuller House has been renewed for a fifth season, it’s the final season. However, in a way, this is a good thing.

One of the worst things that can happen is that a storyline is just cut midway through. Fans of shows hate seeing how a storyline has potential but is canceled without resolution. I just have to look at the likes of Dark Angel and Witches of East End to make this point. It’s frustrating to get invested and then forgotten about.

At least Fuller House gets a chance to round out the story. The fourth season left with some exciting moments of development for various characters. We’ll not get to see a wedding, how characters fully move on from loss and the growth of a family.
