Netflix shared the trailer and release date for Murder Mystery starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Murder Mystery arrives on the streaming service on Friday, June 14, 2019. You don’t have too long to wait to watch this original movie.
In the Netflix original movie, Sandler and Aniston play a husband and wife who are going on their “honeymoon” to Europe after being married for 15 years, according to the trailer. While in transit, it looks like they are framed for a murder they did not commit. They try to evade capture around Europe and find the real murderer. It’s safe to say this plot goes all the way to the top.
Kyle Newacheck, who directed Game Over, Man! for Netflix, is also directing Murder Mystery. Luke Evans and Gemma Arterton also star in the film.

While Sandler’s Netflix movies have been less than impressive, Murder Mystery actually looks like it might have some potential. Newacheck is best known for his role in the series Workaholics, and he’s super funny. Aniston and Sandler can obviously act, and with some good direction and fresh jokes, I think there’s a chance this will be Sandler’s best Netflix movie yet. Again, it’s not a high bar, but it’s progress.
Obviously, The Meyerowitz Stories is Sandler’s best work on Netflix, in addition to his most recent stand-up special 100% Fresh. Technically, the film is not part of Sandler’s Netflix deal, which will include eight movies, total.
