Why Avengers: Endgame will not be on Netflix

Avengers: Endgame will not be available to stream on Netflix in the United States, and here’s why.

If you are waiting to watch Avengers: Endgame on Netflix, we have some bad news. Unfortunately, Avengers: Endgame will not be available to stream on Netflix US after its theatrical run. Before you freak out, we’d like to share why that is.

A few years ago, Netflix and Disney, which owns Marvel, made a deal to bring all the new Disney movies to Netflix after their theatrical run. This brought us movies like Black Panther, Beauty and the Beast, Thor: Ragnarok, Captain America: Civil War, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and more on Netflix.

The deal was supposed to extend through 2020, which would have meant Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame and more good movies would have been added to Netflix. Instead, Disney broke off their deal with Netflix early to start their new streaming service in 2019.

Every new Marvel movie released after Jan. 1, 2019, will go to Disney+, Disney’s new streaming service. Obviously, that means Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame will be streaming on Disney+ and not on Netflix.

We’ve seen a lot of people blaming Netflix for not having Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, but it’s really not the streaming network’s fault. Disney is solely responsible for this, and it makes sense for them to keep all their big movies for their streaming service. That’s just how it works, unfortunately.
