The Netflix original series What/If starring Renée Zellweger is coming to Netflix on Friday, May 24, 2019. It’s one of about five great Netflix original shows coming in May 2019.

There’s another big Netflix original series on the way in May 2019. What/If starring Renée Zellweger premieres on Netflix on Friday, May 24.

The streaming network announced the release date for the Netflix original series in a new teaser trailer shared on social media and YouTube. We shared the teaser below.

What/If was created by Mike Kelley, who also created the hit series Revenge. We don’t know what’s going to happen in this series or what it’s even about yet. Netflix has not released many details at all about the series, but there’s a lot to like about what we’ve seen and heard so far.

Here is the official synopsis, via Netflix:

"“In this neo-noir thriller series, a pair of cash-strapped newlyweds accept a lucrative but morally dubious offer from a mysterious female benefactor.”"

For those wondering when they last saw Zellweger in a leading role on TV, you didn’t! This is her first major TV role, and that’s crazy considering all the projects she’s starred in throughout her career.

The teaser has the tagline: “What would you risk for a chance to have it all?”

Check out the teaser for the series below.

What/If is one of a few great shows on the way in May. Next month, Lucifer season 4 hits Netflix on May 8, followed by the new season of She’s Gotta Have It and Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us, the Netflix original series, at the end of the month.

This show might be the best of the bunch, and most importantly to Netflix, this series will be eligible for the Emmys because the show premieres before June 1. Stay tuned for more Emmy coverage.

The trailer for What/If should be coming to Netflix sometime soon. We’ll let you know when the trailer for the series is available.
