The kids might leave Hawkins

Back in 2017, the Duffer brothers sat down with Vulture to discuss how Stranger Things came to be. Ross even mentioned that the kids need to get out of Hawkins. He could have been joking, but they might actually do just that this season.

The show absolutely could have bad things happen constantly, but it would be nice to see them all get a bit of a reprieve and maybe that’s achieved by having them leave Hawkins, even if only for an episode or two. I don’t think it’s something that would last too long. The status quo is there for a reason and there’s a lot more of the story left to tell in Hawkins.

We know that Billy is spending time at a local community pool, but if the kids really want somewhere to go, maybe they can find a beach to go to, too. It is summer after all during this season.

Now, I’m not saying they’ll head to one of the coasts, but maybe a lake would be an option. There was an indication about heading west in the date announcement teaser. “When blue and yellow meet in the west” appeared on the screen and in the poster for the season, Mike is wearing Blue and Eleven is wearing yellow. It wouldn’t be too farfetched to think that the two would run off together. But would everyone else go with them?

What do you think of these fan theories? Which one are you hoping to see the most in Stranger Things 3? The new season drops on July 4, 2019.
