More Maze

I’m going to be honest, Maze’s arc in the last half of season 3 confused me. Yes, she’s a demon and I understand that a combination of her hurt from Linda and Amenadiel’s lying and Lucifer’s refusal to take her back to Hell would make someone as temperamental as this demon lash out.

But even with all that, I thought it was out of her character to turn on all her friends and work with Pierce to not just go against them, but hurt them. In the scene where she calls Trixie “a stupid little brat,” she didn’t know Trixie was standing behind her but it had me want to shake Maze. Trixie’s crushed face was too much for my heart to handle. These two need to make up ASAP.

Even though Trixie and Maze haven’t made up yet, she and Linda did! Their friendship is one of my favorite aspects of the show and the fact that Maze fought 12 people and ran four miles to make sure no one hurt her friend really shows how far she’s come. And we heard a genuine apology from Maze. Now they need another girl’s night out with Chloe and Ella.

Apparently our favorite demon is getting a love interest this year. Lesley-Ann Brandt, who plays Maze, confirmed the news to TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich:

"Maze does fall in love this season. Season 3 explored what relationships and friendships feel like and how you can be let down and make up, while Season 4 is now about her finding her someone."

That’s such great news! Who is this new beau? He’s going to have to watch out for Maze’s violent tendencies. I’m excited to see where they take her character this year and hopefully we get even more Maze!

What do you want to see in the new season? Hang in there, after months of waiting we’ve only got to be a bit more patient. May 8 is almost here!
