Beyoncé: 2 more projects in the works at Netflix after Homecoming

Beyoncé and Netflix have partnered for three projects and a $60 million deal, including Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé, which was just released on April 17.

We have some great news to share with Beyoncé fans! According to a report from Variety, there are two more Beyoncé projects in the works at Netflix.

Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé premiered on Netflix on April 17. The documentary gave fans around the world a look behind-the-scenes to Beyoncé’s legendary set at 2018 Coachella. In the film, fans saw some of the set, along with interviews, footage from practices, rehearsals and more.

According to the Variety report, Netflix paid about $20 million for Homecoming, and the full deal with Beyoncé is worth $60 million. Netflix and Beyoncé’s team did not comment on the report, though.

We don’t know what the next two projects after Homecoming will be. I’m guessing they will be similar to Homecoming or Lemonade, the movie Beyoncé made that premiered back in 2016 on HBO. It doesn’t sound like Lemonade is coming to Netflix.

Lately, we’ve seen Netflix make a lot of multi-project deals with talented creators. These range from stand-up comedy specials to documentaries to overall production deals for movies and shows. It will be really interesting if Netflix continues to make these mega-deals with talented creators.

We’ll be sure to let you know more about these projects when we find out. I don’t think we’ll learn more about them anytime soon. It makes much more sense for Netflix to wait until 2020 or even later to release the next one, especially when they are investing $40 million more into those projects.
