Come and convince me otherwise if you think you can. The Last Kingdom is clearly better than Game of Thrones. Here’s why.

Game of Thrones season 8 is here, and everyone is talking about. Except for us who are fans of The Last Kingdom, because despite what the masses might say, the Netflix Original series is way better than the HBO series.

Despite all the fuss and hype the HBO series has gotten over the years, nothing has gotten our blood pumping and adrenaline running quite as much as The Last Kingdom.

The Netflix Original series, which released its third season last year, is set England before it became the England we know today. Focusing on the warrior Uthred, Son of Uhtred, a Saxon who was raised as a Dane, as he aims to help bring birth to a great nation and reclaim his homeland.

Based on the books by Bernard Cornwell, there are actually multiple reasons why The Last Kingdom is better than Game of Thrones. Not just one. And we’re here to tell you about them all.

1. Uthred vs. Jon

Comparing our two main characters from both series, Uthred and Jon Snow, it is clear who is the better main character. Now, I don’t mind Jon Snow; I like what he stands for. He doesn’t seek power or titles like his fellow characters in the HBO series. Instead, he seeks to do better by others no matter his own personal sacrifice.

However, Jon has the emotional range of a teaspoon. He goes from brooding to staring off in the distance, to brooding, and back again. Also, he is a little bit of an idiot most of the time. Ygritte wasn’t lying whenever she said; “You know nothing, Jon Snow.” He honestly didn’t know what was going on.

Uthred, on the other hand, does have more than one range of emotion, he is actually smart and a much more likable and relatable character.
