Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger is digging deeper into the comic lore every week. Could “Rabbit Hold” have opened the door for an entirely new dimension to be explored?

Warning! Spoilers for the latest episodes of Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger follow. You’ve been warned.

On the latest episode of Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger, the show delved further into the comic mythology that established Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy’s abilities. The pair worked together to pull Mayhem (Emma Lahana) from the Darkforce Dimension that she was absorbed into but they encountered someone else who needed: James Connors (J.D. Evermore).

The shameless Detective Connors was captured by Ty’s shroud in the season one finale and hasn’t been seen since. But while absent, he’s definitely not gone for good, evidenced by what we saw within Tyrone’s Darkforce shroud.

Mayhem and Tandy (Olivia Holt) spend most of their walkthrough of Ty’s shroud searching for an exit. Though, their search uncovered a den of fears crafted by Connors himself. It is worth mentioning that the den is full of Connors’ fears—not of those who he’s taken advantage of.

In any case, we see in the episode’s conclusion that Tandy was able to pull Connors from the dark recesses of Ty’s shroud. The problem is she left Mayhem in Connors’ place. Is this the end of Mayhem?

While we’re certain Mayhem is trapped, this probably won’t be the last we see of her. For all we know, the time she spends in the Darkforce Dimension will make her even more deranged. Mayhem didn’t seem to care that killing Connors would eliminate any possibility of proving Tyrone’s innocence so there’s a chance she will become identical to her comic counterpart.

On the other hand, Mayhem could potentially have the same effect on Ty as she did on Detective Brigid O’Reilly. The evil half seemed to motivate Brigid into acting outside of the law and the promo for next week’s episode suggests that Ty has absorbed some of the malice clinging to Mayhem.

In the promo, Tyrone comes face-to-face with Connors in yet another confrontation. The clip for “Alignment Chart” darts all over the place but the last few seconds gives us the impression that Tyrone is developing some anger issues. Ty has always had a bit of a temper, just not like this. Could it be that Mayhem has infiltrated his mind, infecting it with her rage?

Whatever happens, Tyrone and Tandy also have another fight to hash out. The clip offers a glimpse at Ty confronting his better half over releasing Connors from the Darkforce Dimension. Not a lot of context is added here but from the sound of things, Tyrone wanted to keep Connors locked away. He didn’t admit the truth to Tandy, Evita, or his own mother—but seeing as how he’s angered by Connors’ release—maybe Ty didn’t want to let the corrupt cop go after all.
